The last few days in Chicago have been rainy/humid/sticky. Don't get me wrong, there is a chill in the air, but at the same time, enough humidity to take your lush, straight hair to the 'frizz zone'.
I've been spending quite a bit of time going to different client meetings and coffee chats downtown. Whether you are an office road warrior like me or stay put in one office all day, every gal needs some tools in her make-up bag that will help with those hair moments when your bangs start to curl up like an Elf Shoe (which happened to yours truly today).
I make it a point to scout out the public bathrooms in an office building, or know which chain restaurant's bathroom I want to use. Better yet, if you are near a hotel when you are en route to a meeting or date, you can easily use their bathroom for touch-ups (this is any City Gal's Secret Weapon - the bathroom in the hotel lobby). I was early enough for an 11 am meeting and darted into the restroom of a major lunch chain for some last minute hair 911.I pulled my hair back into a low ponytail, slicked back the frizzy wisps with bobby pins that matched my hair color, then smoothed my lips with lip balm. All set.
Bobby pins, a hair elastic and lip balm. If you can spare the room, add an Emory board, concealer and tweezers.
