My New Favorite Workout Gear: The Running Skort

I was at Target the other day and stocked up on some basic household items. I typically do NOT like weaving through any of their clothing items on the weekends. Most things are picked over, especially all the 'mediums'. I decided to be a trooper and take a look-see at the workout wear. I'm in need of some new duds - not just because of the old wear and tear, but I tend to get a new sense of  motivation when I'm running with new shorts or pants. This goes back to my high school track days, I guess.

That's when I ran into the Skort. A running short underneath, a skirt covers you up and comes complete with an inside pocket for your keys and after-run-need-food-cash-stash.  These have been around forever in the tennis world and I'm happy to see them put to good use elsewhere. I tracked down the product thru Champion's Web site.  Hope this comes in handy for you sometime!

Ahh, to work in International Tourism. Every day there’s a new surprise. I was invited by the Spanish Tourist Board for a cocktail reception yesterday afternoon at the W Hotel on Lakeshore Drive. The reception promoted one of Spain’s most beautiful and richest regions, Catalonia, or— Catalunya in the Catalan language. However, many of you know it as the region just below France, where Barcelona and the Pyrenees lie, while I like to think of it as the region where my Grandmother is from. While at the reception, I met with the GM of Iberia Airlines (my favorite airline by the way) and learned that Iberia and British Airways have just merged, and while they’re still going through the “pregnancy phase”, there’s also talk of making an alliance with a North American Airline, possibly making this merger the biggest ever! You know what that could mean?? Well, perhaps a start to cutting out all those new nickel and dime fees for cookies or checking in an extra bag.
